Sarah Gaffey, MBA

Vice President, Strategic Operations

Serving as VP, Strategic Operations, Ms. Sarah Gaffey is responsible for shaping and advancing GCAR’s long-range operational strategy to enhance scalability, efficiency, quality, and execution across new and evolving programs.

Ms. Gaffey has over 15 years of experience in the oncology space, with progressive leadership roles in clinical research, commercial enablement, and operational excellence.

Ms. Gaffey started her career in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital, and transitioned to Dana-Farber Cancer Institutes Center for Neuro-Oncology where she was an instrumental partner in the management and growth of their clinical trial portfolio, including an expansive Investigator-Initiated Study Program.  While at Dana-Farber, Sarah led the operational development, execution and oversight of the INSIGhT (NCT #NCT02977780), a phase II biomarker driven adaptive platform trial in glioblastoma.

Following her time at Dana-Farber and prior to joining GCAR, Ms. Gaffey worked at Foundation Medicine, Inc.  While at Foundation Medicine, Sarah helped to scale their Clinical Operations team. Sarah later transitioned to the U.S. Commercial Team, where she led business planning and enablement functions in support of growth of Foundation Medicine’s U.S. Clinical footprint.

Ms. Gaffey earned her undergraduate degree at Providence College and her MBA at Question School of Business at Boston University.
